FAQ’s

Why the Name “Ninkybink”?

Ninkybink was the name I picked out for my baby doll when I was a little girl. I made it up out of my imagination instead of choosing a “normal” baby name. I think “Ninkybink” exemplifies the quirky imaginative slant I had as a child and still have as an adult! Plus it sounds happy and cute.

How did you come up with the Ninkybink cat logo?

I thought about my two favorite brand logos, the Eveready Nine Lives battery and the Mobil Pegasus, and combined them to make the Ninkybink logo. The kitty’s foot is up because when I was making the logo, my cat’s claw got stuck in the screen door, looked at me, and I thought it was endearing.

What type of apparel blanks do you print on?

Shopping with a conscious is no sweat when it comes to Ninkybink apparel items. I only print my designs on USA made, or Fair Labor Certified Apparel. I prefer brands like Alternative Apparel, American Apparel, and select factories in California.

How do I know what size to order?

Each product page will give you measurements and any sizing information you will need to know.

How do I care for my Ninkybink clothing?

The best way to wash your Ninkybink clothing is to turn it inside out, and wash it in the machine or by hand on a cold setting. Because my tees contain cotton there may be a slight shrinkage, but most are preshrunk and hold up very well in the wash! I don’t use nasty thick cotton tees, only premium quality shirts like Alternative Apparel and the like, so you can have confidence in that quality!

What Type of Printing Process do you use?

After I draw my illustration or create design artwork, I either burn and personally hand pull the screen print, or in more detailed artwork cases, I take it to a local family owned screen printing business (support local!). They produce durable long lasting prints which I have been very happy with.

With your commitment to USA made apparel, does this also mean your jewelry is USA made?

With the exception of the “I heart Ohio” necklaces, my jewelry is not USA made. If you want some USA made jewelry I find some great stuff at etsy.com! But as stated before, all Ninkybink apparel is USA made or Fair Labor certified!

What kind of packaging does the jewelry come in?

The jewelry comes in white or pink boxes (depending on the size of the jewelry) with the Ninkybink Cat logo on the box. It’s very cute, and ready to gift!

How many people work at Ninkybink?

Ninkybink is operated by one female entrepreneur with a dream! I work in a café part-time, and run Ninkybink by myself. Having said that, I have a lot of people to thank for helping me! Alan Barber made me my first 2 websites, Nathan Walke made the current website, my dad does the bookkeeping, my mom contributed her artwork, and I have some very supportive friends who help me in many ways.
