Lately I have been focusing on my textile designing, and in the process of building my portfolio, I decided to start a fabric shop on Spoonflower
Thankful for my friend Rachelle! We had a great time at “Lobster Fest” today!
Here is a textile print I did this morning. It started out as a hand painted rose image, acrylic paint on paper. I then scanned it, color reduced it in photoshop, and turned it into a “half drop repeat pattern”. To see some of my other textile designs, click here to my textile portfolio.
These have been one of my best sellers! They come in either black (as pictured here) or a mirrored silver. $16 plus shipping – they are available in my etsy shop
Here is a basic repeat pattern featuring a hand painted motif I made. If you need textile design, surface design, or illustration, please check out my website http://www.thecriticsdarling.com
Today my mom and I went to the Cat show in Toledo, Ohio. This is somewhat of a tradition for us since we both love cats and proclaim them to be the cutest animals in the world.
Lately I have been making handmade soap, and part of the fun is coming up with labels for them. Here is one I did recently using watercolor. To see more of my art, check out my other website http://www.thecriticsdarling.com
Happy Valentine’s Day! I made this “Scherenschnitte” (paper cut) Valentine for my sweetie! I sure appreciate the joy he brings me, as well as all the joy my friends and family bring to my life! Hope you have a wonderful day appreciating all that is lovely.
Turns out I was featured in the news for my kitty phone cover! Click the photo if you would like to view the story.
Today is my 30th birthday… and honestly I am not sad or worried about a new decade because I think it will be fabulous. I was more upset last year turning 29… I dyed my hair brown! Now I am back to feeling like myself and I’m very happy with 30.
